Company formation does not automatically grant Egyptian residence. It may create a legal basis for an investor residence application if the company and investor satisfy the applicable requirements.
Shareholder status and residence are different
A foreign national may own shares without holding residence or a right to work in Egypt. Residence, immigration status and any required work authorisation are separate legal tracks.
Practical sequence
- Complete incorporation and commercial registration.
- Organise tax and company evidence demonstrating the investment.
- Prepare passport and current immigration documents.
- Obtain the applicable investment recommendation or certificate.
- File with the competent immigration authority.
Factors considered
Ownership percentage, capital, company activity, documentary compliance and security review may affect the application. A foreign manager may require a work permit separately.
